ok so I am a bit late... I guess I could say I have been in denial that it is October! I cannot BELIEVE that we are already getting Halloween costumes together, that football has been in full effect and that I am even seeing a HINT of Christmas decorations. I am in shock!

I am behind in getting my holiday calendar out, and wanted to make it official on here - I am going to be doing some of the usual and then add in there some new fun stuff - there are some changes though that I need to address.

I have created a new pricing model that I am really excited about. It is a hybrid of sorts that will incorporate both digital collections as well as prints like I have always done. I have had countless requests over the years to offer digital files and so I decided that it was time. You will find the link to the guide at the end of this post and if you have any questions about any of it, please feel free to email me.

FOR ANYONE WHO HAS ALREADY SCHEDULED - you will refer to the pricing that was in effect when you scheduled your session. :)

The other thing to be aware of is that for the special holiday sessions that are listed below, you will go by the pricing as if you purchased a collection. So the wall and desk portraits will be 50% off, etc.

October

Sunday the 18th - Dallas State Fair

this will be SOOOOOO fabulous!

*350 goes totally toward your print purchase - no session fee*

Sunday the 25th - Woodlands mini sessions

Locations include East Shore as well as Market street.

*$350 goes totally toward your print purchase - no session fee*

Friday the 30th - Halloween Canned Food Drive

*bring 5 canned goods and receive a 10 minute session and a complimentary 5x7*

November

Sunday the 8th - (Kingwood) Portraits in the Park / Monkeys on a bed mini sessions

We're pullin a bed out into the woods for some fun jumpin for the kiddos after we finish with all the good portraits in the park for mom and dad - this is sure to be sooooooooo fabulous!!!!! Holiday pjs, favorite stuffed animals - it all goes!

*350 goes totally toward your print purchase - no session fee*

Tuesday the 10th - spillover date for (Kingwood) Portraits in the Park / Monkeys on a bed mini sessions

*350 goes totally toward your print purchase - no session fee*

Saturday the 14th and Sunday the 15th - Galveston and the Strand

Limited sessions will be available - perfect time to go down to do beach shots when hardly anyone is there.

*$425 includes 50 double sided holiday cards and a $200 print or collection credit*

Sunday the 22nd - Austin mini sessions or possibly another date in Kingwood - depending on Austin interest

*$500 for all images on disc*

December

Saturday the 5th - Dallas mini sessions

*$500 for all images on disc*

*Mini sessions will be up to 30 minutes in length and will include around 20 images to choose from*

All print pricing will refer to the pricing effective October 1st. That can be found at

Notice that after November 22nd, the mini sessions are for the disc only. Cards can be purchased from these sessions but no custom designs will be available.

I will be accepting full sessions until November 22nd. The only exception will be newborns or maternity sessions for the month of December and the first half of January. The studio will be closed from December 18th until January 18th. No orders will be placed during this time.

ALL print and card orders that need to be ready by December 17th MUST be placed NO LATER than December 3rd. ALL book orders that need to be ready by December 17th MUST be placed NO LATER than November 23rd.

Ok I know that is so much information, but it is all good important stuff. To break it down a bit more -

WITH THE EXCEPTION OF THE HOLIDAY SESSIONS

October is completely booked

November has 15 full sessions open - 1 Saturday and 2 Sundays are the only weekend days left that have any openings

Oh I have so many things up my sleeve at the current moment my sleeve is just about to bust!

School starts on Monday, as many of you know, and with the school year is going to come lots of new fabulous things around here. This is the first year I will have ALL 4 in school somewhere!!!!! WOOHOO! (but then i get sad.... go ahead and say it like most of you have already to me - time for another one LOL) and NO that is not what I have up my sleeve....

Here is just a little teensy tiny look at what I have in store... let's just say there are some fabulous family occasions coming to a photographer *eh hem* near you. :)

I'm gonna knock your socks off here soon! Just you stay tuned and see!!!!! It is fabulous fabulous and then some more fabulous!!!!! :)

We're headin out on vacation!

Hope it is fabulous for you and yours!!! Just a quick post in the spirit of the day... It is wedding season, so the crickets are chirping quite loudly on here! But rest assured that as soon as I slow down a bit (ha!) I will have some overly fabulous stuff to show you all!!!!! :)

What better way to end a fabulous night than with a fireworks show?!?! I can't wait to share this one either!!!

{lost and somewhat confused}

About my blog, that is! I have totally lost track of who I have blogged, who I haven't - these past few months are a b l u r to me... So I thought I would pick a senior that I had sooooo much fun with! I think I will just have to do another update of the site, because there is no way in the world I will be able to catch up on here. So go browse there sometime when you are having your favorite beverage of choice and enjoy some good fabulosity! :)

On another note, it is officially summer around here! All kids home and currently keeping themselves very happy with the wii - thus the blog post. :) So, I will be working this summer, but will not be working as much so I can spend lots of time with my cuties. (they can't play video games all the time, right?!?!) If you want to book for the summer, I have some availability, but not much, so get with me soon.

Here we go... *as I was uploading these my kiddos have decided the wii is not what they want to do and are now begging me to watch their talent show - how can I turn down THAT invitation?!?! - so no words today... just fab images of this beauty!*

{I love love}

I L O V E weddings - like as in big puffy heart them - they are so my thang! :) (ok i am a texan - i might not ride a horse but i can certainly pull off a texas draw when i need to! LOL)

And my weekends have been consumed with them lately! I am in the height of wedding season, and while the day after may not exactly be a cakewalk (especially when i think i am super woman and schedule multiple sessions the next day - um yeah - talk about tired) - the day of is such an adrenaline rush and I just love it!

I am going to try to blog a slideshow of each of them, but for now, this is one I just got up online this past weekend. I couldn't help but smile while I was editing these images. The bride and groom are so in love and were so full of excitement - makes my job so easy! :)

I'll share a few images, too, for those of you that might be checking on an iphone or somethin like that so you won't feel totally left out. :)

Here we go... *this kind of got a bit out of control - what started out as a simple slideshow post turned into a beast of one. :) I don't suppose anyone will mind much *

Coming to you live from the Moore house - it's the Lindsay and Jeremy show... LOL

A joint blog post, if you will - Jeremy is helpin me out! :)

A continuation of our Europe trip...

Guinness, anyone? This was in the Temple Bar, but we also visited the Guinness factory while in Dublin. It was pretty incredible how big this place was - and to my surprise, the guinness was quite tasty! :)

Inside the Temple Bar... we had the most yummy meal here as well as the most yummy spiked cider.

Outside the temple bar... we liked it here. LOL

LOLLOLLOLLLOLL This was on our ghostbus tour! We were inside the old Dublin city gates here and had to be silly - here we are with our good friend, Mike... we love Mike! :)

here we are in Italy... so much to explore - the history, fashion, but alas all I could focus on were pizza and cappucino - somehow we missed the pizza shots - guess we were too focused on the pizza!

in town for 4 days - what do you say about a restaurant you go to twice?!?!? props to Rachel Ray! Fire ROCKS!!!!! This is Jeremy here with his good buddy John. We had SOOOOO much fun with John and Debbie on this night... seriously SOOOO much fun!!!!!!! There was this taxi driver too that I think will always remember us! LOL **

While we were walking in Rome we found this bridge that had the most amazing sky with the sun setting - it was a fabulous beginning to the end of our day!

So it is May. Hello, May! Oh, wait - it is the middle of May... Oh, wait - I haven't blogged in over a month... Oh....

Well, I could rattle off a list of excuses a mile long, but I will spare you! LOL Let's just say I have been busy. :0)

Who is on facebook? I am! (picture me - jumping up and down - waving my arms madly at you - and picture you - laughing) :) All my facebook friends know what has been happening in my world. Jeremy and I went on an amazing trip to Rome and Dublin a couple of weeks ago and it was over the top fabulous! We had an amazzzzzzzzzzing time and I know that there are

SEVERAL people blog stalking, and due the overwhelming chatter in my ear demanding a blog post, I decided I needed to oblige! :)

There are so many client images for me to share and I can't wait to share them - wedding season is in full force and the stuff that I have to share is sooooooo FABULOUS! - but for now, I am going to devote the next few posts to our trip. I am breaking them up because, well, I am not done with them yet! LOL I am sneaking in working on them when I can, so I will post some and then will post a slideshow when they are complete. :)

Here we go...

We'll start with one of my favorites - my handsome hubby and I together in Dublin. This was taken by our friend Julie on a tour of Wicklow. It was soooo beautiful there!

I personally think this needs to be a huge canvas in my house - I LOVE IT! This was on top of a castle in Rome overlooking Vatican City - and when you are on top of a castle what else would you do?

We had a great time in ancient Rome - the colosseum was incredible

You know Waldo, right? Like as in can you find Waldo? Well, this is a Moore version... can you find Zander? He is my 4 year old, and no, he didn't go to Rome, but yes, he is in this image. LOL

This is one of our favorites from our trip. The lighting, the moment, all of it - awesome!

i wish the scale of this would translate in an image, but sadly it doesn't - you will just have to go to Rome yourself and see it - it is amazing! :)

Seriously - I had such a blast I just cannot even tell you... It was so much fun and we were accompanied by two of the most fabulous wardrobe and tree climbing assistants ever! :)

I promised that I would have a sneak peek up before the weekend for them and I am following through with that promise! I might have to come back and post a slideshow of all of them at a later date - they are rad - yes I said rad - I did grow up in the 80s! (well kinda) LOL

{i love love}

I am such a creature of habit... there are so many things - like listening to the same playlist of songs each night while I am editing... do I get sick of it? ummm sometimes... like when the crazy frog song comes on that my kiddos love - yeah - I can do without that one in the middle of the night! BUT I really love when this one song comes on... It is one of those toe tappin shoulder swaying songs... I've shared it on here before, so for those of you who have been around a while you will recognize it. For my new friends... join us in our tappin and swayin, will ya? And what better way to share it than to also pair it with a recent favorite session?!?!

Engagement sessions have quickly risen up my list of favorite things to do. I love them... They are SOOOO fun and I just love all the couples I have been working with. I think it is safe to say that not only do I have the most gorgeous clients but I also have the most fun and in love ones as well! ;)

So, grab something to munch on and snuggle up with someone you love and enjoy....

It has been a while, hasn't it?!?!? I didn't realize how long until I peeked at the blog to see just how behind I am. It has been a whirlwind, my friends! After I last blogged I had that super fun event that is coming up in a blog post (just not this one.. sorry!), then I had 2 of my boy's birthdays, 2 of my daughter's dance competitions, quite a number of sessions all in between, and then I just happened to fit in a trip to Vegas to the largest photography convention out there! Yes, you can say I have been a bit busy.

So, just wanted to stop by and tell you all that I am here and trying to catch up. I am pumped about all that March is going to bring with it. Lots of spring cleaning going on - but not the kind that uses any cleaning products. :0) The plane ride home from Vegas was filled with lots of decision making and strategizing and man, was it good! Nothing like an inspiring trip to get you goin!

Since this is really just to assure you all that I am still kickin it here in Kingwood.... here are a couple of silly ones....

What about here? This one taken by my brilliant hubby - and the attitude is all comin from the outfit, my friends. Maybe I should wear gogo boots to all of my shoots? LOL NOT (that was very 80s of me, wasn't it? or was it 90s?)

And one normal one taken in Vegas at Craftsteak - we truly had the best time. Fabulous Occasions's own Jill (who many of you have met, and if you haven't - you will soon) and her husband Mike accompanied us on our Vegas jaunt and we had a ball. We decided to take our own, non-orange, pictures at dinner - so Mike hooked us up with this one. ;0)

Oh my... that will get some giggles from a couple of people I love! :)

I have this folder that is sitting on my desktop that is aptly named "blog love" - in that folder there happen to be some pretty sweet images that I think some people would LOVE to see! Some true sneak peeks!!! *gasp* seriously... can you believe it?!?!?! EIGHT sneak peeks!!! *triple gasp*

It seems, my dear friends, that my blog has gone quite mistreated, and therefore you have all suffered. (now I know you aren't REALLY suffering, but since I have heard from *eh hem* quite a few people about my lack of blogging this is a little teensie tiny bit relevant) ;0)

Speaking of names on my desktop... does anyone else just LOVE naming your drives on your computer? I do!!!!! I have one named Peace... that is for business stuff - you know because I want there to be peace in my business... I have one named Love... that is for my family stuff (i love that one!) ~ Let's see... I also have a FAB one (bet you can't guess what is in that!?!?) Then there is Spankin new (because it happened to be new at the time) I have another one that I think I will keep a secret (a girl has to have some secrets, right?!) But I have a new drive that sadly isn't named.... Anyone want to name it? And looking back over these they aren't too creative, huh? May have to do something about that~ :)

So let's commence with the blog love..... :)

Thank you so much to all of you who have emailed, called or talked to me about the loss of my Grandfather. I am truly so appreciative to the amazing support that my family has and what kind things that you have all had to say. From the bottom of my heart... thank you

I will have an AMAZING event to blog about next week. I'm shooting it tomorrow and can already tell you it is going to knock your socks off!!!!! :) :) :) I get to wear go go boots! LOL

Lastly, but certainly not least, for all you photog friends out there... I have a new baby...... his name is 5D - middle name Mark II - he is just absolutely the purtiest thing ever! :) :) :)

{the importance of a *snapshot*}

We all do it... I hear it all the time - I *should* be taking pictures - or I *wish* I had gone to get my camera...

I am incredibly fortunate to get to have the ability to have my kids pictures done any time I would like. I hear it all the time... I bet you have a ton of pictures of your own kids - or gosh, how lucky you are to be able to take your own kid's pictures all the time. I do have amazing images of my own children, but the reality of it all is, that like that old saying "the painter's house is never painted" - the photographer's children are rarely photographed.

I do have to say, that after the events that took place over this past week, that statement, my friends, will no longer be the case in *this* photographer's house. I want my kids to be able to go through albums (or boxes if need be) of images and to see a chronicle of their lives. I want them to see how crazy they are, how amazingly sweet they are, and definitely how loved they are - I want the boxes to be heavily weighted with the "imperfect" snapshot. For in those snapshots will be the true story of their life.

My grandfather passed away unexpectedly on January 8th, 2009.

I was able to be with him and my grandmother during those last hours and it is something I will never ever forget. He was an amazing man - one that books should be written about. I could go on and on about his kindness, his love for football, his great sense of humor, his ability to make friends everywhere he went, his love for his family... did I mention how much he loved football?

I had the pleasure of living with my grandparents while I was growing up, and they helped to shape me into who I am today. I will miss him more than I can even begin to tell you, but I will continue to celebrate his life and teach my children the lessons that he instilled in me. He will live on... I will see to that.

I stumbled upon these snapshots today. They are absolutely, without a doubt, priceless. These are the last images I have of my family with my grandfather. They were taken on our way out of town. We were there visiting for many days and I had so many other sessions while I was there that I didn't feel like getting the camera out while we were just all together.

They are, without a doubt, not perfect by a photographer's standards, but to me, they are the most perfect portraits ever.

Go get your camera, it doesn't matter what kind - it doesn't matter how many megapixels it has - it could be a disposable one - just get it - and take the pictures that will tell the story of your life - you will be glad that you did.

Well, we are back. We joined some of our favorite people at the place where dreams come true for a 9 day pre holiday spectacular! Disneyworld was a blast - the kids were so pumped and there is nothing like seeing the sparkle in their eyes or the bounce in their step walking through those magical gates!

I thought I would share just a few from the week, but I have been sitting here for a while and blogger is being a pain, so I am going to move on! So, a few has turned into just a couple, but that will have to do!

So here we go... (and more to share later!)

they loved space mountain, but oh my, space mountain is so wimpy compared to all the new stuff... i must say that everest rocks!!!

he turned 2 on this trip... i can't believe my baby is 2... he LOVED the characters! LOVED the parades! "donald where are you?" (that is what we kept hearing) LOL

i suppose this is a fitting end - :0)

And just a friendly, peaceful reminder so that next year we can all stress a little less. Let's all start thinking about our cards and picture gifts in August in 09! ;0) Me included!!!!! (and for the record, no i didn't get my cards out yet.... no, they aren't designed yet..... no, i haven't taken all the shots i want... but yes, they will still go out - new year's cards will be fabulous!!!!!)

The studio will be closed from December 12th - January 26th.

So for now, have a WONDERFUL holiday season! I will check back in soon, but for now, it is time for my family.

{ONE}

One year... it seems like such a long time, but then when you turn around and look back - it - is - just - gone. A year goes by in the blink of an eye. I see mommies coming in with their gorgeous pregnant bellies, then in no time at all they have a beautiful little new baby to bring to me... (2 within the next few days, too! FUN!!! - have i told you i love newborns?)

THEN we turn around and these new babies are having their first birthday.... it just isn't fair - can someone please slow down the clock? please????

I don't think that I can go to bed at 10:11pm... it just doesn't sound right - maybe I am delirious, but oh well, I thought I would share another fab session while I go further down the sleepiness hole.

And an engagement session at that! I love engagement sessions... maybe because the couples that I have had the pleasure to work with are just amazing... maybe because we get to get really creative which I just L O V E.... or maybe because they lead up to weddings! (which happen to be, without a doubt, one of my fave things!) Did you know that I used to want to be a wedding coordinator? Funny.... I actually end up being the coordinator at many of my weddings AND I get to photograph them... I got it made in the shade on that one... ;0)

The next person who sees me and casually in conversation works in that last phrase gets super cool bonus points with me! (and maybe a little somethin fun in your next order) :0)

No, not the phone company! I am picking up my pace a bit today and pulling out an all out sprint! I have a finish line in sight (well, about 5 weeks away), but a finish line, none the less, SO if I want to get all the things done on my list I have to turn up the volume!

{the first one says "oh my it's getting late!"}

...5 little pumpkins.... do you know the one? My 3 year old is learning the 5 little pumpkins verse and I just love it! It is my third time now to recite it over - and over - and over again - and it just doesn't get old. ahhhhh... it is fall!

Thought I would pop on and blog a bit to break up the editing frenzy that is happening!

The canned food drive was SO AWESOME!!!! I cannot wait to share all the little witches, monsters, firemen, princesses, astronauts ~ and the list goes on ~ that came through my door! I have a PILE of food to take to the food bank and cannot wait to load up the kids and take it over! We filled up all the spots and even had to turn some away, so watch for it again next year!

Now, let's jump in to some really really fabulous stuff...

first off, one of my favorite little girls... that belongs to one of my favorite families! she was just a few days old when she first came to see me, now she is 2! i can hardly believe it...

My brain is just kind of jello right now, so I will have a jello-like post.... one of those that is not quite solid, quite jiggly, and full of lots of fun! LOL stay with me here...

So, we are in full swing of this amazing season. I am really really jazzed about all of the awesome stuff going on. So many great images to share as well as other fun stuff, so I am pledging to blog more often! The next few months are going to be filled with so many great things - I can't wait to share them all!

First off, this announcement is long overdue, but so so many of you know already that I have a new studio! WOOHOOO!!!! It is so so so fabulous and I wish I could share some images, but I don't have it all ready JUST yet. You know that 2 week period, yeah, you know the one... THAT was supposed to be when it was all getting the finishing touches put on - it was going to be somewhat of a calm before the storm, right before crazy busy became normal - well it happened to be a storm! So, things have gotten put on the back burner a bit as we are fully entrenched in CRAZY! LOL :0) Lovin' every minute of it, though!

So, images will be following, as well as some great events we will have going on. The first is our Halloween canned food drive, which I have actually added more spots to due to the awesome response! So, if you or anyone you know would like to participate in this, call me!

Now, onto some fabulous sessions to share...

....oh say back to last month.... after labor day, but before Ike. That will take you to the first day of preschool that got skipped over - and after coming across these this morning I decided - they needed to be shared! In fact, he got to attend ONE day of school before we evacuated... poor guy... every day he would ask when he would get to go back to preschool!?! Gotta love it when they are that excited! I must say his teachers and school are totally fabulous! :0)

It is October.... IT IS OCTOBER?!?!?!?! Huh? How in the world did that sneak up on me like that? Crazy....

Well, October means Halloween! AND I had this idea for this year for Halloween pictures... here it is...

I am going to offer Halloween sessions on Sunday, October 26th and we are all going to feel all warm and cozy inside after we do them - why? here is the scoop.

Fabulous Occasions is putting on its' first annual canned food drive! This is something I have wanted to do for a while and I thought this would be a good time.

You - email or call me and set up your time

Me - reserve your time

You - go get 4* canned food goods for each subject being photographed (*more is always an option!)

You - get your little goblin all dressed up and bring them and the food to me (must be in Halloween costume)

Me - act like a fool and get all sorts of fun faces

You - leave knowing you are going to have FABULOUS images of that cute as can be goblin

Me - take that food to the food bank and leave knowing that, together, we are making a difference

So, now I won't go on and on, but you get the point!

In exchange for the canned food items, you will receive the 15 minute session and (1) 5x7 image of your choice from the session. You will see approximately 5-7 fully edited images. A max of 2 subjects PER session, please. Due to time restraints this will be strictly enforced.

Green.... green is the title of my post today. Why, you ask? Well, my 6 year old decided that would be a good title, because, well, that is his favorite color. So, green it is!

I have been very productive in my whole assault on cleaning up my list of to do's post-Ike. That, my faithful blog readers, is a mucho fabulouso thing! (one of my favorite 4 year olds is teaching me spanish LOL)

:0) I'm back! I'm diving in canon ball style and I am going to put a major huge effort to get caught up within the next few days! I have tons of emails to answer, and my edit folder is over flowing, so just be patient with me! BUT I am here and I am so happy to be here!!!

Lots of blog posts coming, but I thought this was a fitting one to share first. I had a girlfriend mention "Ike babies" to me today and I hadn't thought of it... I wonder if I will be swamped next July??!?!?! That would be fun, now wouldn't it!

{Ike}

*i wrote this on the 22nd, and then after i wrote it all out, started to think about all the images i have seen over this time of the total devastation that was left behind after ike. i felt as though my complaint over lack of power, was, well, not that important with other people having lost everything. i just want to say how my heart absolutely goes out to everyone affected by this storm. obviously when even a minor disruption happens in our lives, it seems like the biggest thing ever, but for some out there this was the absolute worst thing and for that, i am just overwhelmed with sadness. we should all be thankful for every single bit of blessing that has been given to us - no matter how big or small - i know that through my frustration comes great appreciation for all of those blessings given to my family.*

my mind is mush... the past - oh what has it been at this point... 12 DAYS!!! they have been filled with worry, stress, relief, fun, irritation, appreciation, awe, total surprise, and oh - did I mention appreciation - DEEP appreciation? if you are one of the lucky few - and put some emphasis on the word - few - who have power, i also will express jealousy - but i am also very happy for you at the same time! i am counting the minutes until possibly, just possibly, our wonderful, much missed power, will just magically "pop" on. and yes... i know it is no magic act and therein lies some deep appreciation for all of those bucket men! just if they could come visit our house that would be fabulous! soon, i know...

for those of you in other areas who didn't experience the wrath of ike... this may not make much sense, but for those of you who did get any of the wind... any of the rain... any of you who got stuck in traffic - you will get every reference that i made, i am sure

to the brides and grooms who had to reschedule their weddings (including one of my own fabulous bride and grooms!) my heart goes out to you - i know how hard that was - but what a wild story it will be down the road! embrace it and move on...

really this is just to check in, say hello, and wish you all a fabulous day ahead. today is supposed to be that magical day when some really wonderful person will flip the switch! oh bless you, wonderful person! *still waiting on this!*

i have some photos to share from the week and will share them when i am all cool again and i have lights! we have all had so much fun throughout this ordeal... time spent with family and with friends has been wonderful! i know that my kids had very little idea about what was really happening - this has been one super fun vacation for them! bikes, skateboards, footballs, shake and go cars (wonderful little things!), the quilt club, new video games, monopoly with mimi - the list goes on and on for them, which is truly a fabulous thing. if i can look at the positive side of all of this, that is what i see. my kids have thoroughly enjoyed themselves - and i have enjoyed seeing that!

so for now, if you are trying to reach me, i am powerless, my phone is starting to act up, BUT i am here - and will be in touch soon! *and now - day 14 - still no power!*

There are some words that are just fun... like random. I don't know - it is just striking me as a fun word today. Maybe it is lack of sleep, I don't know. But for some reason I like it today, so therefore my post has an appropriate name!

I should never play bunko... NEVER! If you want to win, then play with me, because I lose - BADLY! I have played once now, and I have to say I am hanging up my dice! LOL

I am listening to a new cd that I picked up in Austin at Waterloo records with my super fabulous hubby after eating at the most amazing restaurant EVER for our anniversary back in July. (how is that for a crazy sentence!) It is by Haley Bonar - never heard of her but for some reason that night she sounded just fabulous to me and now she is gracing my Itunes.

My head hit the pillow at 3am... I was having yummy coffee at 1am... the season is in full swing

My little one has 2 staples in the back of his head - not office supplies - the medical type - and all he said when getting them in was "ouch"

I somehow have in my mind that it is cold outside.... it just looks cold to me

Anyone know that song? I grew up marching around my Nani's house to that song the day after Thanksgiving every year. We would all trim the tree and then all of the grandkids would march around the house, taking turns leading the way, my Nani smiling from ear to ear clapping the entire time as she marched along with us. Those are some of my fondest memories.

I LOVE that football season is coming.... I LOVE that that means fall is upon us and Christmas is just around the corner. The thought of a Christmas tree in my living room and hiding in my bedroom wrapping packages. The smells that always are coming from the kitchen... The lights... I CANNOT WAIT!

There is ONE day left in September. The 21st (Sunday). This will be for full sessions, so if you are wanting a full session this fall, this is a great day for that.

October has only 3 Sundays left for full sessions. The 12th, the 19th (evening only) and the 26th (evening only).

Lubbock sessions will be held October 29th, 30th, 31st and November 1st.

Pricing for Mini Sessions is as follows

$250.00 for 20 minutes. 15-20 images will be shown. Up to 4 people allowed in session. Each additional subject is $25 extra. Every penny of the $250 can be used toward whatever you would like! SO - NO SESSION FEE! If you want $250 worth of cards, then you go ahead and get that! If you want a big old canvas, then you get that! Fabulous, eh?!?!?!

Birthdays and Back to School!

This year, my daughter's birthday happened to fall on the day BEFORE school started! I had a hard time thinking of having a party RIGHT before school started, (i mean that is a crazy time!) but we decided to run with it and it was SO much fun!!!

I mean, seriously, what 9 year old wouldn't love to come down the stairs and see a hummer super stretch limo waiting for them and their best girl friends?!??!! ;0)

This was taken after she had calmed down!!!

She had no idea where we were going! She had so much fun and I just love her expression.

Then the first day of school came!

There is quite a sense of accomplishment to have 1/2 of your kids out the door by 8 am!!! ...but oh how I miss them being home!!!

And perhaps the craziest part of my weekend! There is a new Moore! Meet Lulu - the birthday kitty!

Prepare for a renegade of sorts on the blog!!! Time to get some of these sessions up here!

And for those of you who have emailed, and anyone else waiting, the holiday schedule will be posted by tomorrow evening! I have been waiting to see when *kind of a big thing* would be finished, and it is just a day away from being done, so big news is on the horizon!

{i think i can... i think i can}

I feel quite like the little engine these days. The hill is quite steep at the moment... in fact it is much more like a mountain. BUT goodness gracious I KNOW I can get to the top! (you know though, it doesn't hurt, even when you know you can do something, to still keep chanting in your head that you really do think you can do it! LOL)

The mountain in front of me is filled with editing, book designs, orders, card designs, shooting, editing, back to school shopping, shed building (don't ask), did I say editing? Oh yeah - and a HUGE project smack dab in the middle of it all that I cannot reveal just yet. It is SO BIG and I am SO EXCITED but it is going to have to be announced in due time. It just happens to be one of the biggest, most fabulous things that has ever happened to Fabulous Occasions!!! So, yeah, I think it is safe to say it's no hill I'm climbin!

BUT that is OK! In fact it is better than ok, it is fabulous! I am incredibly blessed with amazing clients, a bigger than life supportive husband, a support system that could hold up a sky scraper, and 4 babies who don't care if my to do list gets done or not - they love me "past the sky" - so all is good!

Needless to say, if you are waiting on me, just give me a bit more time - I'm getting there!

Super mega bonus cool points if you figured that out! LOL

So, I am off on a whirlwind weekend with casting calls in the morning (holy cow I am pumped about that!) then off to New Braunfels to shoot a fabulous birthday party - then to San Antonio to celebrate none other than my own birthday! WOOHOO!!! Any reason to eat cake is a fabulous one - and when you are the one who gets to make a wish that is even better! I know just what I am wishing for this year... and it would put me over the moon if it came true! We shall see now won't we!?!?! You know what they say about wishes, so I mustn't tell!

So I will be a bit out of pocket this weekend, and will return calls and emails when I return on Tuesday.

I dreamt that I would be caught up before tomorrow came, but alas, I am not. Maybe being one year older will be what I need to kick it in gear! Have I told you about my 14 week goal yet? Hmmmm I don't think I have... I must share it! Next time...

So... you noticed the new header, eh? I thought I would make one more post tonight, um, this morning, just in case that Edouard gets all crazy and takes out our power. (and for those of you who don't pay attention to the things happening around us - aka moms like me who never get to turn on the news because nick or noggin or one of those other little people stations are on - Edouard is a tropical storm, not some crazy guy coming to turn off our power LOL)

No seriously, while we were in Whistler I saw this shirt and it said "Peace, Love and Models" and I thought to myself, that is a fun shirt... but then like mid thought I had this super fabulous, light bulb going off, crazy smile drenching moment! I turned to Jeremy and immediately told him... Peace, Love and Fabulous!

I cannot even begin to tell you how 'me' that statement is, and how my business, in my mind, totally - to a T - is represented by that statement.

SO..... I hope you like it. I love it. It is Fabulous!

Do you remember your first best friends? The ones that you could tell all of your secrets to and giggle with and play all day and have glorious fights with and then make up and forget you were ever really upset that they wanted to take out your Rainbow Brite's ever so lovely high pony tail? eh hem, well maybe not that last part, but you get my drift, right? Best friends are GOLDEN ~ they are true treasures in life that we must not ever take for granted.

When I moved to Kingwood, almost 7 years ago, my daughter took a gymnastics class. The first day I sat next to this super sweet girl who had a little girl my daughter's age and a baby in a carrier, just like me! Fast forward 7 years later and I realize that that one day was golden. It was a day in my history that will always and forever be important. Our families have grown together, played together, they love each other. What started out as a friendship has grown into an extended family - and that is glorious.

I want to share with you some of my favorite people... some of our best friends

{the whole enchilada}

I thought it would be fun to share a full session! I am knee deep in editing and catching up - ok so maybe it is up to my waist already, but I wanted to post something for all of you to enjoy, so what better than one of my favorite family sessions!

This family was so much fun. The boys were absolutely the sweetest little guys and just truly truly loved each other. They made my job super easy and we got to do a lot of fun stuff!

You will notice a little bit of a different feel to some of my stuff lately. I am loving all sorts of different textures and vintage fabulousity!

I am about to bust with all of the things that are happening, but I just cannot share yet. That is terribly mean to do, I know, but don't think of it as being mean, (i am really not mean!) just know that I am promising really really exciting fabulous things that are about to start happening - both on the web and in person! AND with all of those things are going to come announcements that will be posted on here first, including birthday deals, anniversary specials, etc. This November is my 3rd Fabulous Birthday! And, trust me, I am doing it UP!!!!! :0)

{too much fun}

That is what happened... we had too much fun! It was such a fabulous idea, and I will have to do it again sometime, but there is something to be said for being on vacation and just having too much fun to stop and blog! I highly recommend to any of you who have considered to visit the northwest in the summer time to definitely go! We had such a wonderful time exploring the different spots and I have to say that we discovered we have quite the adventurous crew! I cannot wait to see what these kiddos want to do in the coming years. I am amazed at how brave and up for just about anything they all are! It is going to make for super fun times!

So I have a bit to share... ok so maybe a lot, but I didn't think anyone would mind too much. I was going to put together a slideshow, but really wanted to talk about them all as well, so I just decided to make a fabulous, monstrous, beverage deserving (your choice) post! So get comfy... they are out of order and I just do not have time to fix that! LOL

{wanna come along?}

WOW! We are having SUCH a fabulous time! I hate to say it, but I don't know if we will be coming back - with highs in the low 70s, snow to play in, and absolutely beautiful scenery, we are loving it! Ok - did you catch that - it is JULY - the end of JULY - and there is snow up here. How fun is that?!?!?!? We Texans don't exactly GET that sort of thing!!!

So I turned to Jeremy and had this super fab idea... let's blog on our trip! Fun, huh? Well we got all excited and went through on our FIRST night and picked out fun images from the scenic side of the day to edit and share and then, well, blogger was having some difficulty - then we pack up and leave Seattle and visit Mt. Ranier - HOLY SMOKES! THE most amazing thing I think I have ever seen. We leave for Vancouver that night and get to our hotel - get all excited thinking I will get to blog some of the fabulous stuff we have taken and then - well - let's just say if you stay at the Westin in downtown Seattle and there is an adapter in your room for the power cord for a mac... it might be mine! So... here we are... all excited to share - and it just isn't happenin! Well... a nice walk to the apple store in Vancouver in this glorious weather did just the trick and got us up and running again!

So, not exactly the way I had planned, BUT it will work, right?

There are an incredible amount of images from this trip that are just breathtaking. I just finished uploading the first 4 days and I already am planning canvases and the like, so I cannot begin to imagine what the next 4 days will bring! I am super tired - so no editing anything new tonight, but these are some fun little things from the first day...

{Leaving on a jet plane...}

Well, hubby and I just returned from an AMAZING little jaunt to Austin land for our 10 year wedding anniversary and now we are pickin up the kiddos and heading out for some family celebratin time in Canada! I love summer vacations! SOOOOO I will not be around to talk to all of you fabulous people for a while. I will have limited access to voicemail and email until the 23rd. So be patient with me for a little bit! :0)

I have a bunch to share from this summer. It has been a really rockin summer so far and we aren't even done with July yet! Lots of babies, weddings, seniors from the class of '09 and don't get me started on my recent new friends in Lubbock! Before we left for Austin I literally was in front of my computer NONSTOP for 4 days! It was like November! crazy...

But for now, I just have time to post a couple - then I MUST go finish getting us all ready. It is a JOB folks to get 6 people ready to go and of course, I must be considering all of the gorgeous photo ops we will be surrounded by and what the 4 little ones ought to be wearing! There are not enough hours left in my day!!!

Smushed... that is a good word. This is a very smushed together post. Maybe it should be a glimpse into my head - because at the moment there are SOOOOO many things going on up in there that I cannot even get one thought out without having another wanting out! LOL So there is the title... a glimpse into Lindsay's head - a small glimpse - because otherwise I would be here for a while!

First things first...

Did you notice my new splash page? If you have my blog bookmarked, then you most likely did not notice it! So go check it out! It is the entry page for my websites and I LOVE IT!!! It is truly fabulous! Kim over at Simply Splash helped me in getting my vision together and she is absolutely divine to work with! Anyway, you will notice the senior site is in the works :0) - and over the next 30 days there will be lots of changes and new things happening! It is super exciting!!!

So onto the next part of this post...

I have met so many new people lately and have gotten to see a lot of the existing Fabulous Occasions family! This past weekend was a whirlwind with engagements all day Saturday and babies all day Sunday! I am behind in my blog posting as far as sessions go, so I thought before I left town on my summer jaunt up to Lubbock to visit family and work with my fabulous clients up in that direction, that I would share just a sample of some new stuff!

I am kinda glad I am behind though, because that means that the next 30 days will be REALLY surprising! :0) Remember all those changes?

{summer fun}

I must preface this by saying I really really do not like sidewalk chalk. I don't like that my baby likes to EAT it - yes - he eats it (blech!) I don't like that we tend to forget about it and it gets rained on and buckets of unused and partially used chalk get ruined and become a soupy mess. I don't like having it all over me.

BUT BUT BUT!

I really do love drawing with it. Doesn't make sense, huh?!?!?

It is so fun to make chalk people or write stuff all crazy. I love it when I come across secret messages that were written with it.

SO I guess you can say I have a love hate relationship with the stuff!

We had a lot of fun the other day outside and some chalk had to make an appearance. I thought I would share something fabulous from that day. :0)

I have lots of clients to post, but for now, this will be my own fabulous occasion! ;0)

On a work note, I have had such an enormous response for models and I am pumped about it! I got so many great emails from moms gushing about their kids! I LOVE that!!! It is so great being a mom! How fun is it to be totally and completely biased to the fact that these little creatures that we are raising are the most fabulous, most beautiful, most amazing little people to have ever graced this amazing planet!!! There is nothing like your own babies!!!

Here are mine... and yes, they are the most spunky, gorgeous, amazing, truly breathtaking little people ever, and I could not imagine life without them...

Are you ready for this? Seriously.... ARE YOU READY!?!?!?!? I have such an enormous, super cool, incredibly awesome, DOWNRIGHT FABULOUS announcement!!!!!

So... you ready?

I am so so excited to share what we have in store for this summer! This is the first of a few announcements coming. Fabulous Occasions is taking a dip, folks! IN THE POOL!!!!!

How much would you just absolutely LOVE to have images of your children swimming underwater? And we aren't talking just your average shots, either! How much would you LOVE to have FABULOUS images? Well, HERE is your chance!

For limited dates, I am offering underwater pool sessions. Here is the nitty gritty....

You call me - we set up your time

You show up to our secret location - ok so it isn't so so secret - but it is a POOL!

For younger children come prepared to get in with them - trust me, I won't take any of you in your bathing suit, so no worries! Well, of course, unless you want me to!

I shoot, with my super fab new gear, and you score some pretty fabulous prints that all of your friends will drool over!

Now the cost... we have to get to that part, right? $250 for your session and $150 of that will go toward your print purchase.

{Banana Pancakes}

No, I am not eating banana pancakes... No, I did not photograph banana pancakes... BUT I did listen to the song while I was proofing this little fabulous cutie pie's images! So often, I will sit and proof like a robot.. no music, no nothin... but then I turn on Itunes and it is like a whole new world! I love how much music can just totally turn a photograph into so much more of an emotional experience than it is already! Lately I have been listening to One Republic, Rob Thomas and Jack Johnson... with the occasional Colbie Caillat and Feist making an appearance!

So.... when I look at these 2 pictures I think of wonderful banana pancakes and total joy!

heehee! Isn't she just so great...

Her gorgeous mommy! I love it when I get asked to take pictures of the mommy and babies... That is something that your children will cherish forever! So often we are so hard on ourselves and don't want to be in pictures... I am guilty of this!!! Years and years and years from now our children will not care how we looked... they will be so happy that we took the time to actually document that time in our lives. We will not get these moments back!

So here is a good recipe for a Wednesday evening... after dinner, go turn on your favorite tunes... turn them up! And dance... everyone in the family... even those silly pre teens that want nothing to do with that... even the daddies... Let it fill you and your family with joy * then do it again tomorrow!

{Me... waiving a white flag..... a really big white flag..... VERY FAST}

You have got it! I surrender! I am so so good at checking other blogs, (yes, I am addicted - especially while proofing!) but it seems mine suffers in the meantime! It seemed like such a reasonable goal to blog during the week and then, well, life hit me square in the face - so I am NOT going to vow to blog daily, or even weekly - that way I will not feel guilty when my head hits the pillow!

I feel better now! (now you watch.. you won't be able to get me off of here! LOL)

I have to have to have to dedicate an entire blog post to this wee itty bitty baby. She is as precious as they come and we got along fabulously! She is just 8 days old in these and you can totally tell the difference! These are some of my very favorite newborn images ever! She was just an absolute perfect little model!!!

wow... doesn't get much sweeter!

ok i lied.. LOOK at this image! If this doesn't make you react in such a sweet and wonderful way, I DO NOT know what will! Look at her sweet hands... look at how peaceful she is... and check out that smile! Yep... FABULOUS! And no, she did not do this on her own, though that WOULD be what I want you to think! LOL Her mommy and her -eh hem- photographer- aka "me", coaxed and shushed and lovingly guided her just where we wanted her! But shhhhh! Keep it a secret!

Her hair is absolute GREATNESS! I LOVE it so much and think she is just the coolest! Her beautiful eyes made an appearance, too!

SUCH the proud big brothers! And LOVIN the new backdrop!

This cracks me up... you have to hear why though! Do you know WHY they are so excited??!?!? She OPENED her eyes! Oh my goodness, is that not the most absolute perfect thing coming out of two new big brothers to an absolute divine little girl! I just love that! If we all got so excited about such *what we think to be* small things, think about how much joy we would all have in our lives!

That is all for now. I am thinkin I will put together a wedding slideshow for my next post... but I am not telling you WHEN that will be! You will just have to check back! LOL

Very short on words... need to run out the door to get my dancer... but had to post - gotta get today's in!!!

Mommy got a new lens, a new light diffuser, and made a new backdrop! (and yes, I am a tad bit excited!) The little guy was willing to let me play, so I thought I would share...

ummmm yep! i think i will keep them all! especially my little dude!

isn't that background the coolest?!?! i haven't cropped it down yet so you can see more of the "look". i have had this on my list for a while now and finally got it moved to the top with all my stuff i have coming up! i love it!!! it will be totally rockin!

{gasp!}

well.... i didn't do it! I promise I do have so so many good reasons, but I will spare you of a long and crazy recap of my past few days!!! I missed out on my week of blogging.... I will have to take another go at it! BUT this time, I am thinking I am going to make a realistic goal for myself... and perhaps some structure to my blog posts will be in the works... hmmmm I will have to think on that one! For now, I am going to attempt to blog during the week... so 5 days. That is pretty workable I think!

And look at some of you leaving me some love! I love the comments! Keep them coming! It's great to not just be sitting here talking to myself! LOL I really am quite a social person! ;0)

True sneaks for 2 sweet mommies! Happy early Mother's day!!!

There are so many I could choose from both of these sessions, but these two caught my eye while looking through them!

this little girl just melts my heart... she is SO sweet!

This sweet sweet baby is 8 weeks old!!!!! Can you believe we got sleepy curly images at 8 weeks! Just call me the baby whisperer! LOL ACTUALLY mom knew just what to do to keep this little doll asleep! ;) It is her first mommies day and she is already a pro!

I can't decide if I like this one better in black and white or color... what do you think? ;0) (how do you tell me? add a comment!!! LOL)

Because I am limited on time and there is no way that I am not going to make my goal!

AND because these two love birds were such a joy to work with!!!

i really really love this shot. sometimes, ok, so it is more often than not, i get this idea and quite often people look at me like i have absolutely lost my mind and then they see the shot and they get what i saw! i love that! i am so fortunate to have such amazing clients who let me bring those visions to reality!

{sittin is a good thing!}

When I know I have a 6-7 month old coming up I am SO pumped! I love this age. It is truly a fabulous time when the little people cannot really move and are *almost* always full of super fun smiles - and when they aren't smilin then their personalities can just shine through. Love that!

So here are 2 7 month olds I have had within the past couple of weeks. They are both on my bebe plan and I love when I see them on my schedule!

Oh these two little ones were SUCH a joy! So so so sweet, and SO sleepy! I just adore newborn sessions....

I love it when they are so sleepy and we can just curl them all up nice and cozy!!!

It really is not fair sometimes exactly how much fun I get to have and call it work! Ok 2 am editing is not always fun, but having blow pops and trying on sunglasses with a spunky 2 year old, now THAT is fun people!
